Old Shoneys location Rt. 7 . Cost to much for lunch discount on frozen hamburger patty I can buy at local grocery store. French fries were good. But deep frying frozen fries is a no brainer. I will say I'd rather spend the $9.00 here then the 5 guys burgers in their front parking lot.
Listen here. My wife and I discovered this gem on one of our semi-annual East coast journeys from South Carolina to Pennsylvania. Having a taste in both Southern and Northern cuisine, I can tell you this establishment has us stopping on every trip. The portions are HUGE, and for the price you pay it's well worthwhile. You are usually greeted by one of the family that run the place, and get stared down by one of the irresistible pies in the display case. Keep doing what you do, you'll have our business just as long as you are open!
Pretty decent place. Prices higher than they need to be. Cooked my rare steak perfectly though.
Great food and great staff!! Not only was out waitress awesome, the other waitress even stopped to talk to us. The hostess was great as well. Any place that treats my children as special as the person paying the check will get 5 stars from me!!
warm and friendly staff...no complaints about the food..it will do in a pinch.
Delicious diner food as well as Greek and Italian specialties!! Awesome breakfast selections as well as dessert options The grits are delicious! Also recommend the French onion soup and the spanakopita. Service is wonderful, and prices are great!
While traveling late in the evening, we needed to eat but didn't want the chain restaurant. If you like a diner style restaurant, give it a try. We do and we did ..... We loved it! Great menu and service. Ask for Veronica.
Good food, not too crowded, and the staff was friendly. Thank you honey!!!
Stoped at Liberty gas. Good off the start. Food and the apple/cherry pie is a must. This is Winchester VA finest
Being from NJ, the diner capitol of the world, this place is a GREAT and welcome find! Really good food and so many choices/options. Not fast service... so allow some time.
Didn't like the kids running around but food was good.
Food was ok, but not worth the price. Service was very slow, and my husband saw 3 dead roaches in the men's bathroom.
Expecting a nice selection of diner food, well prepared. No. Basic, kind of odd menu, slow, cold, will not go again.
It is such a cute place. You can sit in a booth or sit at the counter. The food is out of this world, the service is better, and the ladies who work there are all your favorite aunts. There is a massive variety to choose from and each time it is a special treat when your food comes. I don't know enough good words to use
I went Sunday morning. The diner was quiet but had good business, and the staff was friendly. I ordered the Country Omelette, and have no complaints, although it was slightly more expensive than I expected.
Went for breakfast on the way to DC. I'm from Winchester so we always wanted to give it a try but never did. Wish I didn't stop. Breakfast was not good, had a piece of plastic in my pancake...are these instant? My toast was drenched in garlic butter.....for breakfast....it was gross, still can't get the taste out. Took 15 mins to get drinks, even longer for food, food wasn't worth the $40 bill almost angry about this for real. Neighbors in the next booth had a cockroach visitor and were unhappy as well. Watched the kid just snatch it up with his hands.....never again!
Friendly staff, large menu with solid choices, good prices, ample seating. All-around a great stop! Only negative is location - need to know that it's off the road a tiny bit and hiding behind Five Guys. However, easy-on and off of I-81.
Great food. Good service. Friendly staff. We've only ever come here for breakfast but it's always been delicious and the prices are reasonable.
Walked in. Seated myself. No one came to give me coffee -- because they were very busy. Then I saw one waiter roll her eyes after serving a large table and decided I wanted to eat in a different atmosphere. So I left.
Friendly staff, fantastic food, great prices. Been here a few times and have never had a major issue. Love this place quite a lot and they seem to remember their return customers as my family and I always get recognized each time we go.
My husband and I travel all over the country for work and in every new city we work in I'm on a mission to find that one great restaurant that stands out and really puts mark on the city making it easier for me to remember all the great places we've been. There are so many options to choose from on the menu, no matter how big or small your family is there's something there for everyone. All the food is homemade, the portions are huge. The staff was friendly and welcoming and our server Brandon was extremely nice, familiar with menu and very Attentive. This will definitely be out go to resturaunt here in winchester....
My grandparents advised me that the restaurant changed hands a few months ago so I recently decided to see what had changed. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries, a side salad, and a cup of soup since it was a cold evening. I'm pretty sure the soup was from a mix of some kind but it was still very good. The burger was a pre-shaped patty but it was cooked well and the onion, tomato and pickles that came with it were very crisp and fresh. The fries were absolutely perfect - not over cooked and very fresh. Our server was very attentive and friendly, I never ran out of tea and my food came out within 15 minutes of being seated. The food quality still seems to be about the same, the staff seems a bit friendlier than last time and the service was fantastic. Go check it out, it's worth it!
Fried chicken, or should I say fried Pigeon? Nasty. Came right out of a bag. I specifically asked if it was fresh and breaded here and our server said yes. After seeing it, I told her that the next time someone asks you if it is made fresh tell them NO. Her response was sorry I'm new and didn't know. Well next time if you don't know ask someone. This may be why at lunch time there are very few people here. My husband had a veal platter that he said was good.
I love this place. The food and service is great. If you just want a relaxing moment to eat and chat this is the place
I just wanted to read the paper and drink sweet tea while my car was in the shop next door. They welcomed me in anyway.
My husband and I went for breakfast I've been several times for dinner and everything was wonderful but the breakfast was very bad. We asked for white toast they gave us wheat toast we asked for sweet tea we got unsweet tea our waitress brought us our food we never saw her again. I ordered a western omelette with cheese there was no cheese.
Always good, home cooking . Only disappointment this visit no desert's !! Made in-house and person on vacation 😞
For the prices I could have went to a steak house and ate for about the same amount. The food wasn't worth the money. Our waitress Danielle was excellent.
SUPERB staff and amazing food. Hands down the BEST burger I have ever had. I ate there 2nights in a row and will return during my next visit to the area.
Great food and mostly friendly people but the server I had seemed like she was in a bad mood everyone has bad days but leave the personal problems for your personal time
we have always enjoyed coming here. my fiancé loves trying different menu items, but i stick to my regular order. servers are always nice, pleasant and quick. this is the place we go for a quick dinner that we know we will enjoy. also i am on a restricted diet and this is one of the ONLY restaurants in town that offers egg beaters as an alternative to eggs. i love that!
Coming from the Diner state then coming here was very disappointing. The best thing I had and the only thing we finished was the soup. And then there's the pricing... that was not a $50 meal by any stretch of the imagination. Severely disappointed especially after seeing the reviews, I expected to finally find a decent diner down here.
Delicious food but not at a "diner" value. I can't afford to go back.
I love this place. I come here as often as possible. The food tastes delicious and there is a wide variety, from your traditional diner food to more exotic choices from their Mediterranean influence. The quality of service differs, but that usually has to do with how busy they are at that moment. Otherwise, I have had some great dining experiences there with some very pleasant and attending wait staff.
Always a pleasure when we visit. Very nice staff. Definitely a nice place to eat...
Delicious Corned Beef Hash.Good service. Taters are great!Everything was copacetic...
Laid back atmosphere, great food, and cheerful service. You can expect the usual mom-and-pops fare, lots of sandwiches and burgers. But look for the selection of Mediterranean goodies in the back of the menu--amazing!
Great food and service aways friendly. The waitress aways comes around to see if how everything was OK. The desserts are very good as well. I eat here three to four times a week. The management is very good at this restaurant, thanks to Billy and Gus and staff.
Today the service was fast and friendly. Everything was cooked as ordered. Pricing was competitive.
Great breakfast, fast and friendly service. The staff was really funny and sweet. We will definitely be coming back.
Nice family place. Good food and good service. (Jennifer on night shift is very nice and polite)
Service was horribly slow. Condiments missing on our table as well as other diners asking for ketchup (empty bottles on several tables). Food was average. Omelette was over cooked and rubbery. Gyro had lots of meat but salad was under dressed. Server was pleasant, took responsibility for our long wait and discounted meal. Nevertheless, we won't return.
Everything I've had here is quite tasty. Very few restaurants around here offer clams and the fried clams here have a light, seasoned breading that makes them a favorite. Service is outstanding. I have not had dessert here but friends tell me they're delicious. There is also a semi-private room for small parties like meetings or bridal showers or birthday parties. The restaurant is very conveniently located.
Awesome! The staff is amazing as well as the food. We eat there every Sunday morning and every chance we get. Absolutely love this place.
Driving down 25 hours to Texas. I am going there to propose to my girlfriend. We have been dating for four years now and I love her lots. I really hope she says yes because if not that would ruin the trip. Anywayyyyyy Diner was fine. Awesome service 11 of 10 would go again even though I’ll never be here again.
The food was moderately decent at best and the service WAS POOP!! We saw our waitress 2x from the time we sat down until we left. Neither my wife and I got a refill for our drinks and had to get up and ask another waitress for napkins. It WAS a Sat morning however, there was only 4 other couples in the entire restaurant
It's a good place to order down home cooked meal. I a lot my friends liked different things things on the menu. Sometimes there's enough to take home.
quaint, we wouldn't go back for seconds
Good menu. Was there during slow time. Service was fair and friendly. Eating area has some TVs.
